There are significant differences between the flanges of the Ministry of Machinery and the Ministry of Chemical Industry in multiple aspects, mainly reflected in their applications, materials, structures, and pressure levels.
1 Purpose
Mechanical flange: mainly used for general pipeline connections, suitable for low-pressure, low-temperature, non corrosive fluid pipeline systems, such as water supply, steam, air conditioning, ventilation and other pipeline systems.
Ministry of Chemical Industry flange: It is specifically used for connecting chemical equipment and chemical pipelines, suitable for complex conditions such as high pressure, high temperature, and strong corrosion. It is widely used in the fields of petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical, etc.
2 Materials
Mechanical flange: usually made of carbon steel material, which is relatively soft but can meet the strength and sealing requirements of general pipeline connections.
The flanges of the Ministry of Chemical Industry are made of high-strength materials such as stainless steel to meet the requirements of complex working conditions. These materials have good corrosion resistance and high temperature and high pressure bearing capacity.
3 Structure
Mechanical department flange: The structure is simple, mainly composed of basic components such as flange plate, flange gasket, bolts, nuts, etc.
Chemical Department flange: The structure is relatively complex, including basic components such as flange plates, flange gaskets, bolts, nuts, etc., as well as additional components such as sealing rings and flanges to enhance its sealing and load-bearing capacity.
4 Pressure levels
Mechanical flange: The pressure used is generally between PN10 and PN16, suitable for low-pressure pipeline systems.
Ministry of Chemical Industry flange: The pressure can reach PN64 or even higher, which can meet the needs of high-pressure pipeline systems.
There are significant differences between the flanges of the Ministry of Machinery and the Ministry of Chemical Industry in terms of usage, material, structure, and pressure rating. Therefore, when selecting flanges, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the specific pipeline system and usage conditions to ensure that the selected flanges can meet the requirements of system operation safety and stability.
